When becoming an adult isn’t what you thought it would be

After moving out on his own at the age of 19, Calvin has discovered the reality of adult responsibilities, and how even though he has gained freedom of his choices, life isn’t as exciting or adventurous as he thought it would be. Long work days and the rinse-and-repeat of paying bills has left him looking for some deeper meaning and more fulfilling next steps.

“When I was younger, my idea of being 19 years old was probably filled with more friends and spending time with family. I didn’t imagine I would be living on my own. I had envisioned college. I thought I would be doing things that were a lot more fun and full of excitement and adventure. I imagined my life would be much more filled.. like I was actually living life.”
