The Challenge

For years, WPPI’s visual identity relied on a dated, blue heavy design system that no longer reflected the energy or scale of the event. With the conference moving to the Rio Hotel, the brand needed a complete refresh that aligned with its new environment. The direction called for a visual identity that was bright, modern, and playful, capturing the spirit of Las Vegas and the welcoming nature of the WPPI community. The goal was an identity that felt fun and accessible rather than corporate, stuffy, or overly tech driven.

The RESULT

The new identity debuted at the 2025 conference and immediately transformed the attendee experience. Bright signage, bold graphics, and cohesive visual moments created an environment that felt lively, modern, and inviting. The updated brand captured the fun, communal spirit of WPPI and helped the event feel more accessible and engaging. With this rebrand, WPPI now has a flexible, future ready visual system that reflects the creativity and momentum of its audience.

THE CLIENT

WPPI is the leading annual conference for wedding and portrait photographers and filmmakers, drawing thousands of creatives to Las Vegas each year. The event blends education, community, and inspiration through hands on workshops, business training, a bustling expo, and the renowned Icon Awards competition. At its core, WPPI exists to help photographers grow their skills, elevate their businesses, and find connection within a creative community.

The STORY + THE WORK

The rebrand began by drawing inspiration from the Rio’s bold architecture, vibrant color palette, and retro resort atmosphere. Those cues informed a visual system built around saturated hues, approachable typography, and a logo structure that feels strong, contemporary, and unmistakably energetic. The updated identity includes color variations, layout treatments, and a conference specific lockup that brings consistency across signage, digital materials, merchandise, and event installations.

For WPPI’s off season offerings, a simplified black version of the logo was developed to support online education, virtual events, and community communication, ensuring clarity and cohesion across all touchpoints.
